The first choice was now for me also Sony, since I was the operation of Tablet (Android 4.4 updates "KitKat") already accustomed. The new "Sony Z1 Compact" is my current z. B. too expensive, so I was looking for a 4.5 inch version and was find him here. What compromises I have made? Slightly lower resolution and compared to top smartphones rather more weight (by the way approximately 144 g).
My apps run smoothly, the service is also good and the font (size preset normal) is easy to read, of course, not rattenscharf, yet sharp enough. Compared to the iPad mini 1 definitely more detail! The color reproduction, brightness and the display to be like them quite well.
The interior of the Sony SmartWatch 3 was the most time consuming, since I first could not activate via Bluetooth the clock - it worked but problems, so I can now access eg to runtastic..
Making calls by the way also with the Xperia E3 ;-)
I take no LTE tariff, only normal, since only these provide adequate reception offers a prepaid rate of magenta provider in our area. In this price range "LTE" is probably a great equipment feature.
The build quality is quite good, the back cover has been removed it from me to insert the micro-SIM card and the 32GB microSD card. A memory expansion (max. 32 GB) is strongly recommended, otherwise the internal memory is soon insufficient. There can be at least a few more apps move to the memory card, photos, etc. of course anyway.
What can I tell in brief moment?
+ Decent network coverage, ditto. Wi-Fi, high speed data wireless LTE (4G) possible
+ Acceptable price (bought as a daily offer)
+ 4.5 inches big enough, easy to read, (still) be operated with one hand, touchscreen solid
+ Pretty good battery life with 2300mAh actually possible (surfing, mails etc. - gamblers suck the battery rather empty), as always user-dependent; Here I am waiting on the experiences of other users
+ NFC-enabled Bluetooth 4.0 +
+ Decent build quality, no creaking o. Ä., Also no pixel failure (!)
+ Good, solid sound over headphones, speakers ok
+ Good haptics (I still buy a protective film and a shell)
+ Current Android 4.4 "KitKat"
+/- As was feared, the main camera is 5 MP, despite not top, but not a flop (note: sufficient), the shutter lag is a little long, but I use anyway even an extra camera for real snapshots, Full- but HD video are possible, while the front camera dissolves rather meager with only 640x480 pixels
+/- With approximately 144 g (reweighed) without shell still acceptable for an entry-level smartphone, "solid" dead weight
+/- Not really clunky, but not a smartphone for every pocket - yet (hand) bag suitable, with minimal cover incidentally thicker than my iPhone 5S (also with cover)
+/- Not waterproof (but that may expensive Sony models)
- Relatively scarce memory, at first I was free for about 1.1GB, here it is urgent to the max. 32GB can be upgraded. As is known, can not all move apps to the memory card, so it may be very tight, despite backing store quickly. It also helps to deactivate Apps (unless erased) by at least Updates will be deleted and significant disk space!
- Color and material-related sensitive to dirt, but if necessary, easy to clean
Exciting question at the end: receives the Xperia E3 in 2015, the new Android version 5 ("Lollipop") - wait and see, for the "Z" models, it has been announced ...
About more experience I will report. I like the Xperia E3, although the main camera not really convinced. But the overall package is well priced (offer price) for me i. O. My current impression is still 4 points, not only for beginners.
Did you like my review helped in your decision to buy or search, you have any comments? About a "helpful" I would be definitely :-)
Addendum 20:04:15: the Xperia E3 receives from Soby no "Android 5.X Lollipop" - it remains as entry-level smartphone on the sidelines. Too bad, but still not yet technically obsolete with "KitKat" ...
