This book describes in detail a period of world history virtually unknown in France (to the extent that our country has been virtually absent as an actor), while it is abundantly documented in English, and probably Russian. Until now, only some guidebooks Central Asian countries spoke briefly in French Grand Game addition "Kim" by R. Kipling. It took over 20 years for a courageous editor translated the book by Peter Hopkirk! The result is exciting and a bed is treated as an adventure novel while maintaining great historical rigor. Reading this book is essential to understand the current geopolitical issues in Central Asia. Finally, we must congratulate them for having preserved Nevicata Editions index and bibliography present in the original English, it's so rare in other translations by French publishers it deserves attention.
