After a few years with Pentax SLR's I was interested in a mirrorless camera. I was skeptical at first, although the concept - use of lenses with K-bayonet - was of course tempting, I had already some and was not really willing to restart a new lens series. So I bought the camera and am actually very pleasantly surprised. As already mentioned, the autofocus is very slow, which has improved a lot after the firmware update. The new sensor has been installed here you realize very quickly - the photos are even be used at ISO 3200. The color reproduction is also very good. The menu for Pentax-Kenner no problem because it works like the SLR's. Even newcomers find their way well. The camera is quite tidy, even though all the necessary keys are there. The screen dissolves very well. Manual focus here is not a problem. A highlight is the attached 40s Pancake. Flat as a pancake, very sharp and pleasant in color reproduction. The ausetzbare lens cap does not bother me now and I have not lost him. Pressing him reasonably determined, he does not fall down. The camera with this lens goes into a larger pocket, one takes a different lens, it is of course difficult, but that's also in the smaller mirrorless the other manufacturers that way. In weight, this combination is a "lightweight" when compared to the K5 with eg a 17-70 mm lens. The often criticized rubber flap, behind which the SD card is inserted, I can connect without any problems. You just goes on if they are not turning a blind right. However, I've noticed that the power button is smooth and you accidentally hit the camera turns on when you plug in or rausholt into his pocket.
Advantages: - All Pentax K lenses usable - no new lenses needed - Unusual design - Menus as SLR from Pentax - Sensor very good - better than the K5 - Many setting possibilities - Hot shoe - Again, the Pentax SLR flash can be used - Battery same as K5 - So you can the second battery (if any) of K5
Disadvantages: - Greater than other mirrorless - owed to the K-bayonet
I am very happy for my part and have the K-01 often there. It's also nice that I I know the lenses, their strengths and weaknesses well and I like to use, can also use in the mirrorless. A strong buy recommendation.
