"Hombre" is a recent Western, which differs from the älterern works of its genre. The focus is on John Russell (Paul Newman, he embodies the silent, strong Hombre excellent), a white man who grew up in but Apaches. Now Russell wants, or even "Hombre", the possession of his deceased father to sell; he accompanied some people who lived in the country and now have to go on the ride through the wilderness to the next town. The coach is attacked by bandits, who is particularly apart on the money the greedy passenger Favor. Russell manages to save the money, but the bandits take Favors woman. With the other riders and the money to Hombre saves the mountains and prepares vor.- the inevitable siege of bandits "Hombre" speaks to an issue that has hardly been treated in Western, the Indians hate the whites. In an interview Hombre once said that whites feel as devout Christians, in Gegnsatz to the Indians that they believe exercise charity and at the same time starve a whole people. So behave as his rider, by forbidding him to sit with them in the coach and require that he travels on the box. This because he lives with Indians (s)! The film encourages us to think about, especially because Hombre must go for the same people in mortal danger after all. An impressive film with very good actors.
