I do not want to list and evaluate every detail of the camera but emphasize the essential details that have not brought me of the D90 to D7100 and the camp of full-format cameras.
- Noise -
I have months considering to buy a full frame camera (D700 or D600 or D800 needed new) and was shortly before access. In my D90, which already has a good noise behavior, my High ISO performance is not fully sufficient. ISO 1600 and higher me were simply connected with too much noise. In the D7100's photos at 1600 ISO are not perfect and also a higher ISO speed brings more useful results.
- Fine adjustment AF -
Contrary to the D90, the D7100 also save the fine adjustment of Aurofokus per lens and these data. This is particularly important when working with very bright lenses. Of this I have now several. In Aperture 1.4 or 1.8 or 2.8 that is a very important function, because the coordination between the camera and lens is in these shallow areas never perfect and needs to be adjusted. This feature was very important to me.
- Number of cross-type sensors -
When D90 there was only one, in the D7100 is now 15. One notices especially if you like using a focal point in low light, which is not located in the center. Here, the D90 has easy and strong disadvantages often finds it difficult to adjust the focus safely. With the D7100 now no longer a problem.
These points, the D7000 Although made a little better, it was perfect for me not yet, however. This was taken with Nikon so far only in the area of full format cameras, as well as the D300 lacked the ISO performance. I am glad to have an alternative now, with whom I continue to use my existing and partially lighter lenses and go anyway all desired points in fulfillment.
The bottom line is I am very satisfied and look forward every day about this camera
