Useless because material not waterproof

Bought in July 2013 for my SLR Canon EOS rain cover. That reminds me, the material side of the PU film appeared suspect (the drawstrings and the protection for the lens are made of black material) I have tested only once with a "dummy" of newspaper "rain cover" with gentle shower spray in my shower. The result - after a few seconds the water came through the black material, the water ran through my hands and drenching the ball of newspaper. Although the construction of the shell appears actually very useful, the material is completely unsuitable and threatens the destruction of the camera. Mir is completely incomprehensible how one can install this product on the market. Unfortunately, the cover is not even the modest price of just 19 euros worth. Even a simple plastic bag offers more protection than this envelope!
