The shutter release mechanism at the end is hard plastic and the surround holding it is hard plastic. So no way on earth would it stay in place even with the Velcro strap properly secured. Cameras have all have smooth shutter buttons and smooth areas surrounding the buttons. How were expecting this thing to stay They put ??? All this thing needs is a rubber surround. The designer is CLEARLY not a photographer, and has never been near camera is his / her life before. Not worth the hassle of returning it to Amazon, wants to experiment with it and try to add some rubber.
As for the reviewers saying the mechanism is very stiff and needs to be pulled out to stop the exposure. There's a round metal ring at the opening, turn it and it will release. It's there for long exposures.
