So I put the two side by side of my CF cards
A TRANSCEND 32GB UDMA 7 - 400x also purchased from Amazon at the price displayed 12.08.2014: Euro 38.11
and SANDISK 32GB UDMA 7-120 MB / s read. - 12/08/2014 This price displayed: 74,39 euro
These are the announced characteristics and I put myself in the skin of a buyer who has no other information.
The question that will arise: should buy more than the 1st and 2nd vice versa.
These are tangible results that speak for themselves.
On my computer, I installed 25 images taken with my Nikon D800E, which totaled 1.03 GB.
I have a Transcend USB 3.0 reader - TS-RDF8K where I installed the 2 cards one after the other.
Here are the results:
1 - copy of the computer on the cards:
USB 2 socket, transfer time
- Transcend on: 39 "28/100
- The Sandisk: 38 "89/100
both say tied, because this is the trigger difference probably flat.
This proves that if you have only USB2: one or the other will do.
USB3 socket, transfer time
- The Transcend 25 "52
- The Sandisk: 17 "68
a better for Sandisk that will useful if you need to transfer 400 photos (which I can make this card for NEF (RAW), with my camera ..
Now, in the reverse direction, from the card to the computer
USB2: transfer time
- The Transcend 31 "98
- The Sandisk: 30 "38
Same conclusion as before. No need to pay more for a card that makes the same service.
USB3 Socket: transfer time
- The Transcend 13 "49
- The Sandisk 2 "02
There is the power that speaks.
CONCLUSION:
Sandisk is 2 times more expensive than the Transcend, but if you have only 2 USB on your computer, Transcend is preferable.
Now if you have a USB 3, it is obvious that it is the transfer time from the card to the computer that will interest you because it significantly more efficient.
As for its use on the Nikon D800E, it must be remembered that without grip, this device can make 4 frames / second continuous we can rise to almost 6 with grip and shaped battery.
There, Transcend will be sufficient because it has time to load.
I recall that the NIKON D800 and D800E, D4, D4S have a USB port 3 on the case and therefore, transfers can be made without a stand-alone player.
Because of all these findings:
Overall Rating: 7.5 / 10 recommended the purchase if you have large transfers and if you have the equipment on both sides USB3
