Eschenbach know most probably more than a manufacturer of eyeglasses and magnifying glasses. But you also have a lot of binoculars in the program. I've looked at an optical distributor times by around a dozen Eschenbach models in all price ranges. The lower series have not torn me away, the Trophy EDs, however, are remarkable. A 8x32 ED has found the way to my house and has become the most commonly used glass. What is striking is the very good transmission, which ensures an unexpectedly bright image. I am amazed every times what the small 32 mm opening in the twilight shows yet! Center sharpness is excellent, contrast and color fidelity are comfortably far to my mind also at very high levels, the image field. Good Suitability for spectacle wearers. Must not escape unscathed the Trophy at the relatively pronounced curvature of field, the strikes at intermediate distances to the 100 m at the most. One can then focus in on the edge or to the center, so is yet another effect as a general edge blur. In the generous field of view that is perhaps still to get over, but perfectionists will disturb it. The near field for observations below 10 meters is incidentally also great (clearly less than 3 m it is uncomfortable with any glass, because you need then a Pentax Papilio). Processing is without Fehld and blame. The focus ring looks a bit like gray plastic, but emerges as a light metal (magnesium guess). Focus smoothly, diopter correction stiff - so it should be. The eyecups are from out rotary type, they lock into three positions. The insight is agreeable and the weight just right for a steady image. Plus, there's a neat pocket and a padded neck strap.
I see the glass as an alternative to the also very bright Nikon Monarch 8x32 7, which is quite rough but its even lower weight in your hand, or even the logically sensitive but expensive otherwise not so dissimilar Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32. Is the Zeiss better? Did I also compared and yes, it's better, but not so that you start to cry. Straight from the feel to the touch, the Zeiss and the Eschenbach are strikingly similar.
