I have books on dog breeds. This has several advantages: it is neither large nor heavy, photographs are superb, and explanations (though sometimes short) say the essentials. A small drawing shows approximately the size of the dog in relation to a man, the standard is summarized in maximum (height / weight / color). The pictograms allow sensible to immediately see the skills of the race (in relation to children, aptitude for training ...) are not precise enough, but the breeds adapted to family life and races are designed to work well appointed, which is a good thing since the choice of a dog should not be solely on its appearance ... Beautiful book of image and information on the dogs, including the most recent races and mixtures of races.
