My search for a suitable small pocket camera lasted long. They should be small (so that I can always have with me), give a good picture quality, be sufficiently fast - and above all, this should be all in rather low-light situations without using the flash possible. The last point only works if the camera has a lens that is luminous intensity throughout the zoom range. In most comparable cameras, the lens is no longer light strongly at the telephoto end. I came across this camera through leaderboards in photography magazines (where they often either did not appear or if it appears there, is evaluated according to criteria that do not necessarily correspond to my expectations), but ultimately the reviews on Amazon. There I read the rave reviews of the Olympus XZ 1 and XZ 2. Everything was wonderful; but unfortunately too big for your pocket. About this detour but I then came to the XZ-10; they seemed to offer the right compromise. After the first few weeks my preliminary conclusion: I am (although spoiled by Nikon and Sony SLR cameras and -SLT) very pleased with the small camera. It fits well in your pocket. The image quality is surprisingly good for such a small sensor. Since I generally only work with the RAW format, I have noticed with astonishment that even pictures with ISO 1600 are still really akteptabel while ISO 400 and even 800 time very good results. Landscape images are (in dramatic light view from a high-rise building on Hamburg away) in maximum telephoto zoom position at ISO 100 of really excellent Qualiät into the corners, even at 100% setting on PC. The anti-shake functions excellently. The zoom range is excellent. The speed is good. That they gave me at first appeared much slower than my big cameras, is really only at the very different Fotografierstil. In the big cameras I'm used to target the object (eg a child) with halbgedrücktem trigger and press the shutter button all the way down at the crucial moment. The recording is then (very) quickly. With such a small Schappschußkamera that you pull out of his pocket, I shoot mostly different: pulling out switch on, zoom in quickly and cause. The shutter button is not pressed halfway so early; Camera needs only to focus (and often even analyze the situation, if one uses the Vollaustomatik) and then trigger. This naturally takes a little longer. But if they are in A mode serves as an SLR, it solves in fact very quickly. So far, I find it very attractive, let the camera make all the settings ("iAuto") itself, which is certainly also (except for the just-discussed problem of the speed) is quite useful for taking snapshots of all kinds. The Automatic really is mostly very good solutions. For snapshots I also like very well the touch screen system, with which I had no previous experience: simply tap the desired object on the screen, the camera on this subject and then triggers. Excellent work. Since I do not like flash photography in the majority of cases (they just destroy the lighting that attracted me each for photographing a scene), I can say nothing about the Bltz. Likewise, I have not yet tested the Viedeofunktion. Overall, it gives me great pleasure to always have the small camera with me and take pictures with her.
