Beautiful stone and very effective. A face 400 to restore quality to a faulty wire cutter (cutting damaged or very worn). One face 1000 for sharpening and refining give sufficient biting traditional cuisine. Comes with a nice support which holds the stone well, very convenient :) A very good quality / price ratio. Of course, if you want your knives also cut although Japanese chef knives, you should invest in one (or two) grain stone much finer (3000 and older). But the edge is sharpened end, the more fragile and less it lasts over time in common use. This stone is therefore an excellent compromise and great service make for a cook / a lambda range, with still a little practice for novices
