I must say that I have long sought the best interpretation of the "danse macabre" and after buying lots of different performers in this piece, I have to say this is the best "dance of death" in the market. The performance is above that of barenboim home "original decca" which is nevertheless often a reference but is too slow and lack of energy. With the release of Dutoit one feels transported. Carnival of the Animals is also an excellent choice. If it were to remain one, this would drive there.
