This is the first book of the writer Gérard de Villiers that I read. There are a lot of intrigue, and an abundance of administrative information to add to the perception of authenticity. Then there are also impromptu sex, the occasional sodomy, and a plethora of brutal murders. It is easy to understand, the reason is that His Serene Highness, Malko Linge is not the next James Bond, for the British or American public. For most, it's like a cartoon with an enlightened reality element, and on which one is not better informed in order to refute it.
