The keyboard is excellent support from the operating system iOS 4.3. The additional keyboard shortcuts make writing noticeably, so are the a surprising additional benefits:
Menu key, then Tab: Unlock
Menu key 2x in succession: multitasking bar to program switching
fn plus Backspace: off
fn + 6: appear onscreen keyboard / disappear
Arrow keys: Move the cursor
Alt plus arrow keys: jump wordwise
Cmd plus arrow keys: cursor to the left, right, top or bottom
Mark Text: Shift plus arrow keys
Cmd plus X / C / V / A / Z: Cut, Copy, Paste, All-mark Revoke as the Mac
Another advantage is that the keyboard can be easily switched on and off without the iPad gets confused. Who knows other operating systems, know that this is not self-evident. So you can easily switch between screen keyboard and external keyboard. Those who want the keyboard but with multiple computers (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac) couple, must re-enter an identification number for each device change.
The processing (plastic) is neat, but does not reach the very high level of the original Apple keyboards with a metal housing. The Bluetooth keyboard Apple has similar dimensions and costs about the same amount, but not as easy to transport as the Logitech model. On the other hand, the Logitech Mobile Keyboard is not solid enough for daily use on the Mac. The Logitech keyboard weighs 400g with batteries installed, the envelope 225g to. By comparison, the Big Apple keyboard metal with USB port and numeric keypad weighs 546g. That means the keyboard is about as much luggage again as the iPad alone.
For working on the go these additional keyboard is a great relief.
