First of all, the advertised 1000W has the box of course not, at least not as RMS power. The 1000W provide at most the max. Peak. The should be clear in advance. An RMS power output of 350-400 watts can be attested the box but what is already a lot of wood.
When building is a classic 2-way box with a 1.35 "compression driver for high frequencies and a 12" driver for the bass range. The box is for the performance offered relatively light (about 12kg) and compact (I already had 10-inch model, which were not small).
The speaker looks "good" and the processing is performed flawlessly. As the material is, as with most boxes of this type, robust plastic used. However, this also has the disadvantage that one or other martial track will be built to the, Boxing, despite careful treatment, eventually. But that's purely cosmetic.
The connection panel on the back consists of the following components:
- 2 XLR / TRS inputs, each of which has a volume control
- 1 XLR output for connecting additional speakers
- An effective 2-band EQ, which makes sense, because you can thus tune the sound as required / use
- Of course, because there is also the USB port for the Behringer Wireless microphones, but what I have not tested it because I do not possess such a micro.
Like any modern Aktivbox also has this an internal limiter. A scrap by improper handling is thus virtually ruled out, which is a not insignificant point with beginners in the PA, or in boisterous party.
For sound
The Box developed an enormous level and even in the high volume area it does not sound strained, which is not self-evident in this price range. Without intervention on the EQ box already sounds quite balanced and well tailored. Sauber at high frequencies and with defined dry basses (a bass can and can not be expected, of course, that's what subwoofer). With well-dose EQ intervention can still audible change / improve the characteristic. Of course you can not compare the sound of the neutrality forth with tips speakers in the high-end range, but what do you need that? The box is well balanced and makes, if need be, sau loud!
The application areas are manifold.
A single box (up to 50 people)
Micro pure and you can already enhance the language on a smaller scale effectively. In the 2nd input ne guitar (with intervening geschaltenem effect / Preamp) purely and already you can without external mixer for singer / songwriter type host an unplugged concert. Or you just plays music.
As a pair of speakers (to 100 people)
Mixer off and you can already as a junior band / dance duo (trio) sound for a Dorfgemeinschaftshaus adequately.
With subwoofers (to 200-300 people)
With one or two subwoofers you make it a full-fledged PA, with which you can provide sound also mal ne small gym / a smaller marquee or the street festival with a powerful sound.
A downer there, however. Behringer has beginning of the year attracted (virtually overnight) prices by 20-25%. I think that's a shame, because the argument "Good quality at a bargain price" now applies no longer unrestricted. It is therefore still very low, but is priced quite close to Mackie, EV, etc. Solton ran.
I was lucky and was able to get the parts nor for the 2014er price :-)
I can recommend the box for the (ambitious) amateur clearly. More money you do not have as create.
