Not long around the bush around the bush: This inexpensive router has no built-in modem. So if you have a modem of his Internet provider, is in a fix with this unit first. The fact that this unit has a modem, actually belongs in the product description at the top spot! TP of course also offers "full" router - with integrated modem. But the case was different to me, I needed a better WLAN transmitters! I have an old Fritz box with single antenna and modest output power and low data rate (54 Mbps). With a Fritz box you can turn off the router function in the open browser windows easily. Then the device is a pure modem. The enclosed cable I have appended the TP router. No problem, because that is all illustrated in the booklet and on the small explanatory CD. Now I have a strong station of TP, the walls penetrates well, and the data rate has roughly doubled. 300 Mbps, as indicated, of course, are only a theoretical value.
