Very good BD player

I wavered between the Panasonic DMP-BD85 and the Sony BDP-S370 and have decided, due to the significantly lower price of the Sony player. After the first few days of experience I am very satisfied. The oft-quoted drive noise when playing DVD / BD come with me not to, or I do not perceive. Maybe I had just lucky, because I know people who have exchanged the unit back for this reason. Setting up the device was very simple, and after 2 minutes the first BD was tried (along with a Sony KDL-37W5800. From the picture I'm thrilled. The test with DVD also ran very convincing. The resolution and brilliance of the movies is significantly better as with my old DVD player, which I had, however, also "only" connected via Scart and not via HDMI. The start times for both BD and DVD (no experience with other BD players have) are in my opinion very good. The Start of Avatar z. B. took place almost immediately after about 20sec, the launch of a DVD.

What worked without any problems, was the USB access to movie files on my mobile FAT32 formatted hard disk. So far, the player will play all formats, even VOB files that play lt. Datasheet only directly from DVD. Even when playing via USB, the quality is very good (of course, also depends on the source material from). Also no problem whatsoever playing audio files and image files (faster frame rates).

By accessing the Internet content I am also very satisfied (on "normal" wired LAN connection). The sound is also very good, but I did not have any AV receiver, but listen to the audio output either through the TV speakers, or through the speakers of my stereo.

So far there is for me as a "casual user" no reason to regret the purchase of the device. The update does not yet exist for the streaming feature for me is not relevant and therefore no point of criticism. The value for money I find very good. Assuming that there are no loud drive noise, I would recommend this device.
