The result: The mirror rattling happily through with the new card, where previously had yet shown a slower pace. Even now I can save nearly 1,800 RAW images instead of 480 - this is of course dependent on what size have the RAW or JPEG files and may vary from camera to camera. Of course, this description applies not only to Olympus cameras but for all cameras like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Samsung etc. Most is actually the memory card of the 'limiting factor'. You also get faster download times from the card to the PC / MAC. It just makes the workflow faster. My personal experience comes from but the Olympus E-3 in comparison with a Sandisk Extreme IV.
Even if a price may possibly occur a bit pricey, the Transcend CF card is cheaper than Sandisk and just as well on the performance - according to the data sheet, if not better than a comparable SanDisk card. We are talking about approximately 92 MB / s read speed and 87 MB / s write speed, according to Transcend website. Because it is also used in practice, provided a good and fast card reader.
Absolute recommendation. The 16GB card does personalize it for most I think also and is again favorable.
