For the power supply:
I use for this device (and for many other devices) from the beginning not "prescribed" by the manufacturer alkaline batteries, but (very specific) batteries. In my experience to determine the manufacturer with the exclusion of batteries just on the "safe side" to prevent unauthorized complaints. Alkaline batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.5 volts per cell, NiCd and NiMH batteries, however only 1.2 volts per cell. With 2 battery cells, this results in an operating voltage for the device of 3.0 volts, with 2 batteries on the other hand only 2.4 volts. The move many units from the beginning already to indicate a too low battery. If one uses also simple batteries, the voltage on battery power drops (even with only "average" discharge currents) very quickly to 2.0 volts and less from, woruch the device often already completely off, although the battery from the charging quantity ago far from empty. I use this device for 4 weeks with the above frequency of measurements "Sanyo Eneloop XX Micro AAA 950 mAh batteries - powered by eneloop Technology HR 4UWXB" needed yet and reload the device works reliably! The 4-pack of batteries I bought on Amazon for 13.98 euros. There are in this type of battery is almost no self-discharge during storage. The device is therefore always ready for use for me as I constantly have 2 batteries in reserve. Would I buy the constellation described again!
