In the same vein as the other books in the collection "Hachette Practices" on wine (grape varieties, flavors etc ..) that is fun, informative and helpful. Going to the basics, the book is effective; Comments and advice are sufficiently detailed and well evoke the flavors, taste sensations, textures for associations Food / Wine offered. Admission is classic yet convenient for families of dishes ranking - which makes the book very accessible and easy to use. the book remains a concise guide (144 p) but the agreement proposals are manifold and chord choices are justified or at least explained. Each family dishes (appetizers, entrees, meats, foie gras, shellfish, seafood, raw fish / smoked fish, cooked fish, beef, veal, pork, lamb, organ meats, poultry, game, etc ..) drive provides: - Two pages of the best known features of agreements on the dishes or recipes of the family or on the different modalities of preparation and / or cooking of the product (proposals or advice explained Agreements) - A page with a complete recipe for a product or family flat designed with a commentary agreement proposal - Finally, a fourth page having, table, miscellaneous income of the family of products for each of them the type or types of recommended wines (eg frisky red and fruity, fleshy red and spicy, fresh white and sappy fruity and soft white etc ...) and corresponding proposed names (proposed several names for dishes / recipes). We do not always fall on the revenue or the specific dish that we try to give but one can proceed by assimilation with the recipes / dishes mentioned in the book.
For my part, I wish I could have an even wider range of dishes / recipes proposing agreements ... but of course, it would have weighed down the whole. This book is clear and well written. A good guide I like.
