So far, I regret my decision in any case.
Already when unpacking I was excited about the beautiful design of the hard drive. They do not hide under the desk so. The power supply cord is long enough, but the included USB cable is advised by one meter a bit too short! After everything was connected, the drive is recognized by Windows XP without problems and was ready for use.
At this point I would like to say to miss the hard drive at the outset an NTFS file system. This allows you to save files that are larger than 4 GB.
In the body houses "Samsung HD501LJ" hard disk with 465 GB free space. The noise level is so low that I had to hold ancillary directly my ear in describing the plate to be able to hear it!
As a somewhat disturbing one can the "Power LED" call. This normally glows solid blue and in describing the plate color is flashing slowly in purple over and back ... Maybe just take a black permanent marker to help, or glue.
The writing speed is with me almost 20 MB / s, not 17 as stated in the description.
Even after 50 GB data transfer at a time is the hard drive just to be called hot times! The power supply unit may easily sweat.
Conclusion: can be a very nice, quiet, fast and convenient hard drive that could have been slightly cheaper without annoying flashing light. If the disk still has a long life, you can go wrong with a purchase anything!
