"Rebecca" is one of the few musical high quality music works of this period. Unfortunately, it can not yet meet the expectations that you have of the duo Kunze / Levay, if one of "Elizabeth" or "Mozart!" thinks. Many tunes from "Rebecca" hear confusingly similar with melodies from "Mozart!". Kunze, who has transferred many musicals into German, including "The Phantom of the Opera", and the expressive lyrics for "Elizabeth" and "Mozart!" provided is not convincing here. The lyrics are shallow and superficial.
Only convince the performer. Above all, Susan Rigvava-Dumas, who plays the role of Mrs. Danvers, is the theme song of the same name with her unique voice, a special coloring. The emerging star in the musical heavens Wietske van Tongeren convincing in the role of "I" as initially small naive Blöndchen and later as a self-confident woman. Uwe Kroeger delivers usual good performance.
The purchase of this CD is worth it, but you should not buy with too high expectations.
