A big plus for me: 2 HDMI outputs, 2 USB inputs (one back), SACD playback, BD / DVD picture and sound are top level.
Einlesezeiten for BD and DVD are rapidly changing layers I have not noticed.
Compared to my LG BD Player, the times are, for example,
AVATAR
LG 2 minutes. - Sony 25 sec.
Complex menus new 3D BDs not bring the players out of step, for example,
Coraline 3D
When LG only after repeated charging possible while BDP 790S immediately on the screen.
The Sony is on the speed, within the menu structure and the operation as a whole, very quickly. It's fun to zap practically instantaneously through the menus and settings. The XMB menu structure as a whole is certainly not the last word and with increasing content quickly become confusing, who knows the Playstation, will find their way quickly.
The soundscape in multi-channel operation is clear, spatially well-structured and is real fun.
In the field of audio is still to be noted that the player can not play FLAC files, either over the network even USB.
For me a clear plus the Sony 790S, DVD upscaling, which is taken out of my old DVDs on image is grandios- a real domain of the Sony player.
4K I may lack terminal not try.
Why Sony offers its top model in this design, or in this case, I do not understand quite. The player is visually very "simple".
Technical- and of the equipment is the BDP 790 on the amount of time. Sensitive tempers could, however, at high frequency buzzing in BD-operation disturb that unfortunately sometimes becomes audible during quiet movie scenes, otherwise the player is very quiet despite fan.
