I've been 3 days proud owner of this set-top box, HDTV Receiver also called. To make it short: I am very excited about the device. Cable customers as I am -I Unitymedia customer- had been no large selection of corresponding devices, unlike users of satellite equipment. In itself, I flirted with the purchase of substantially identical Panasonic DMR-BCT835EG Blu-ray recorder, but I decided to go because of the still much lower price for the Receiver without Blu Ray drive / recorder. Burning is relatively uninteresting to me, because the hard drive is huge and in addition up to 8 large disks can be registered, so that a large number of films can be stored. Very good movies I lay me anyway as Blu Ray to, so I do not have to burn. After unpacking the first surprise: a comprehensive manual on paper! This can be found by now rare. However, the installation is easy and for everyone who had something to do with computers or cell phones, without creating major difficulties. Since I do not own a wireless router with WPS button, I had in setting up the Internet access to enter everything by hand, but that was smooth and quick. Most of the manual I have not read, I only using the remote control according to the motto: am "Learning by doing" procedure. Through the Internet you can use the supplementary services of the various stations, which is a great thing. The output image via the tuner is very good. Programming recordings is child's play; just go to the Program Guide and select the mission done. If desired, you can change the start and end times of the program yet, even that is done quickly. I also have by no means all functions of the device tested, especially the processing of previously recorded programs. The image quality of movies is very good. I've been buying so far not regretted. I am very pleased and will be completed when the next time my review once I've used all the functions.
Update as of 29/09/2013: What I so was not aware of: You can record 2 programs simultaneously and watch it on my TV that has its own tuner, a third mission, simply ingenious.
Update as of 10.13.2013: So, now I am penetrated for machining chapters. Send advance is the extent that the device automatically creates movies with chapter what the work much easier for private broadcasters broadcast films. In practice this means that the device detects alleged interruptions in the movies and in these places inserts a chapter marker. If you want to delete this point, you need only go to chapter overview and delete this chapter. Brilliant! Streaming from other devices is not a problem. I have until now can not even find negative.
Supplement 01/02/2014: In the meantime I once connected an external hard drive to the Receiver and then moved several recorded programs on the hard drive. Before the shift, the hard drive needs to be registered, and all data will be deleted when. Registration is easy. My relatively old plate was easily recognized and registered. Copying the Sendungen- as correct read: Move (the shipments are after copying on the Reciever deleted) - is equal to a number of ways and is also simple. Move 6 feature films took about 10 minutes with me. I'm still blown away by the Receiver and will not want to miss him.
Supplement 03.01.2015: I am still satisfied. So far there have been no problems in operation. The recording quality is still good. Yesterday I have found for the first time that you record even teletext at television recordings and thus can call (important for subtitling for the hearing impaired).
