Very good satellite backup

In the fall of 2011, I got down to work to protect my satellite system against overvoltage. An overvoltage may occur as a result of a lightning strike, which strikes in the vicinity of the satellite system. However, it is not protected from a direct lightning strike to the parabolic mirror.

My satellite system has 2 Quad LNB with 4 outputs. This 8 cables which are guided by the LNB's for multi-switch I have provided with this surge protector. I mounted the surge protector to a 9-fold F-grounding block. The grounding block was in turn connected to the parabolic mirror, the LNB and multi-switch with a 16mm² Ground cable. Thus, a potential equalization of the components is given. The receivers, televisions and the multiswitches have been additionally connected to a surge protector socket.

The surge protector is very stable. The gas discharge tube inside the fuse acts as a voltage monitor and prevent an excessive voltage to the connected equipment (multiswitch, receiver, TV and computer) damaged. The manufacturer guarantees a shielding rating of 100dB. A deterioration of the reception I could not happier as notice. The fuse is after a surge by lightning not broken and does not need to be replaced!

I am very pleased with the surge protector and now feel a bit safer.
