Have the camera now bought 2x for one LA6608. Video and audio quality at Skype are both excellent, the sound is very clear and well suited to the use of the internal speakers (multiplex sound as possible at conference telephone, Echo & crosstalk filtered well). Use a camera that is why even in the office at the conference table for the occasional Skype with individual participants who can not attend in person, unless safety-critical issues are discussed. The latter is of course a question that relates to IT security and trust in Skype itself, not a question of the camera.
The gesture control I did not try, because it does not interest me.
