The BX100 has all SSDs currently on the market the best price / performance ratio and what was currently for me more importantly, a very low power consumption. While these SSD consumes about 1.5 watts in active read mode, the competitors models often need more than twice. In stationary PCs this perhaps may still be irrelevant, but the laptop itself makes every Watt saved in the battery life felt. The predecessor MX100 was on the efficiency ago one of the worst SSDs at all, well that Crucial has reworked here.
In terms of performance, the current SSDs take anyway not much, because up to benchmarks no practical differences in speed are felt. Since you can calmly pick up the best model.
Conclusion: In the end, I can recommend the Crucial BX100 So anyone who wants to upgrade his laptop with an SSD. In the desktop segment, I would grab but currently more still to MX100 (while it is still available), because there the power does not matter. The MX100 provides for a similar price but more features (hardware encryption, Power Loss Protection, etc.) and a license of Acronis True Image HD, which you can use it to make backups or to relocate from one HDD to an SSD ,
