Now available with the Disclosure 10th studio album of The Gathering on the shelves and the band remains true to your musical line, read: Beautiful, catchy melodies, paired with interesting arrangements and an interesting musical excursions as spherical keyboards, organs or trumpets (z. B. in Heroes for Ghosts). The mix of rocking up-tempo numbers like the excellent opener Paper Waves or the Single Meltdown, up to half-psychedelic ballads like the hypnotic Paralized. The cool-rocking Gemini I and the really beautiful ballad Missing Seasons went with me also catchy and burned into the ear canals. To conclude, there with Gemini II the quiet option to Gemini I. I think that's not at all times disturbing because Gemini has a nice, catchy chorus. Everything has once again hand and foot and goes perfectly together. That's also something that I at The Gathering incredibly well like: The music is not boring. No matter how many times you listen to a song, you just does not sound tired, because the songs are mostly very varied.
A bit of getting used to for me 9minütige I can see four Miles, that is a bit too long for my taste, as yet draw especially the last 2 minutes somewhat in the length. That one also long songs can make much more exciting, proves the almost 11-minute Heroes for Ghosts, which also forms my personal highlight on the Disclosure.
I like the latest work of The Gathering very good, but it is not enough to my favorite albums Souvenirs, Home and How to Measure a Planet approach (hence the 4 star rating). Although the 8 songs in total come to a playing time of almost 54 minutes, I would have liked even more desired 2 or 3 additional songs.
Those who still can not make friends with Silje Wergeland, I can, if I'm honest not quite understand. Clear the tastes are different and no doubt heard Anneke van Giersbergen, the rock sector, to the currently best female vocals but Silje's definitely not a bad singer. On the contrary: Even at The West Pole, I found her voice very pleasant and expressive and Disclosure is still much better suited to her voice. Silje's voice is clearly more present and more diverse than it was on The West Pole.
I can every kritsichen The Gathering fan who has not made a detour around Disclosure, only guess: Hear the album 2-3 times to. One or the other is then perhaps like to see this silver disc. Otherwise, I can only say in conclusion: Anyone interested in rock music, which should also contact times with The Gathering apart. For me, the Dutch combo counts with the best rock bands of the past 20 years.
