Now after several listens the CD Throw (Special Edition Digi) by Flood of Red, I want to ask my review available.
By June issue of VISIONS I came across the CD of Flood of Red. There was the music CD of the month. After I've been listening to a few sound bites on the preview, I had to strike.
First I noticed the singer's voice to be very pleasant. He sings very soft, but can also be really rocking. The songs present themselves very melodic and rocking.
I must confess that I consume usually in rock / metal area rather harder music, but somehow fascinates me alone already the singer's voice, although limited acting after a complete rotation, but is nevertheless extremely versatile. Variety is quite large written in Flood of Red, because no song is like another, but a common thread is pulled. Although the order of the titles may be arbitrary, but it fits quite well.
I've been trying for weeks to manufacture or to catalog the tape in a kind of musical genre comparisons to other bands. It falls incredibly difficult because somehow everything is (alternative rock, metal bonds, ProgRock, etc.). What's always fascinated simply the voice with your own slang, and their warmth and hardness.
In the broadest sense one might combine the previous Dredg El Cielo-works and to a lesser extent Catch Without Arms so minimal.
Since I've never been to Scotland, I always ask myself personally the country from, how it is carried by the voice and the instruments of the band. Close your eyes and then I got an insight into the country. One can almost see the vastness into the country, this mountainous in the form of stylistic inconsistencies of your songs, this raging in the form of variable influences of various elements, etc. There are also the different moods were still being transported through their songs.
In short: Great melodies, every song is a Surprise equal and should in my humble opinion on a rainy day (which this summer so basically good is possible) to be enjoyed. The album is easily accessible, but highly variable and often want to be heard. But as it turns out is not too complex for me at least a risk that I do not want to listen to it in 1-2 years. But that's my opinion, criticism at the highest level. The years will show how I will deal with the album on ....
From me there is therefore the full 5 stars. In future, I will follow the band on and look forward to new output.
If you have persevered this far, I congratulate you most sincerely. They have survived my review and I hope it was informative for you. Whether positive or negative, you can confirm with an actuation of the helpful and non-helpful buttons. No matter how you decide, I wish you much fun browsing and if you should have chosen Throw Flood of Red ..... a lot of fun while listening! ;-)
