Since version 7 a lot has changed. In those days PD was an extremely good program, the very extensive output formats possessed (the main reason I bought it at the time) and was relatively easy to use.
Because not much has changed. In principle you can spend on any device in any format that is common. It offers a variety of effects, renders the output to a relative good speed and is very accessible. In particular, the accessibility, I would like to emphasize here again, you can achieve much simply by trial and error, because the surface is very logical and reveals itself actually anyone who has little previous experience, of course.
Why I prefer from all the two stars? It always depends on which corner and what approach you do is push a program. I'll personally from a semi-professional area. For my areas of my PD is "playful" to. The effects are just too exaggerated to me. That belongs mostly in the category Overweight holiday and is me simply not professional enough.
PD is aimed primarily at certainly give the moviemakers who would like to enhance something his works. But sometimes you have to protect these people from themselves;)
Another point of criticism is the version diversity for me. All four versions with different content there. I think it's quite confusing for a layman. Someone who is familiar not very good is, in my opinion possibly overwhelmed with what version he really needs. As might well be a basic version with unlockable additions better.
I would recommend exactly this version, the Ultra. But it has all output formats is not overloaded. The price I find quite good in the case.
Who switched on the Ultimate Suite because he believes he needs the Color Director, because he really wants to edit his videos, which I would recommend, once to view the program hit movie. While this will cost a lot more, but offers scope and opportunities that comes close to a combination of Adobe Premiere and After Effects zoom.
Three stars means "not bad". This is precisely the PowerDirector for me, not just bad but just not really good. Anyone who wants to create just a few short movies and a few effects need without much effort, can access. Who provides a slightly higher standard, the trial should be loaded from the manufacturer down and compare them with trial versions of other products before you might end up buying twice.
