Very personal - One of the best works of the Queen of Pop!

"Erotica" is next "American Life" probably one of the most controversial albums by Madonna. But it is definitely one of their most personal work and very diverse. In addition to songs with the theme of eroticism deal fairly perky (in "Where Life Begins" Do I have to constantly smile), there is also the right instrumentalkarge love ballad "Rain", which at the same time represents the most commercially successful single from the album or the very melancholy and soulful song "In This Life" in which Madonna death of a friend who died as a result of AIDS, processed.

As I said, the album is very personal. In "Deeper and Deeper" she sings of himself, a woman who constantly falls in love with the wrong men to fast. The late 80s and even in the '90s she was constantly disappointed, from her marriage to Sean Penn to her affair with Warren Beatty (I knew before reading the biography "Like an Icon" not that she was with him !). By oriental influences and the soft dance beats of the track is my favorite song on the album.

The melodies of the songs are very well done. Whether the chilly Arrangement in "Secret Garden" or the almost intrusive melody to "Words" ... Variety is the "Erotica" tall. But all sounds very "Vogue" -like when the beats sounds accurate. This is quite logical, because Madonna has collaborated on this album with producer Shep Pettibone, among others, is responsible for this hit. Thus, the songs are catchy become heavy.

Madonna of presentation of the songs has changed this. In many songs she did not sing namely, but the text says to. This wicked whisper is very unusual. At first I did so not quite sure what to make of the album.

The album is published in 1992 in two different versions. The Clean version of "Erotica" contains the song "Did You Do It?" not. Actually, the title was just a fun song, the two co-responsible of the album have been allowed, but Madonna found him so well in the end, they grabbed him on the album, even though it is in just quietly playing in the background. Really bad songs on "Erotica" in vain, only the cover to "Fever" is quite daring and getting used to and "Why's It So Hard" sounds too ordinary for this album.

But otherwise the album is highly recommended. It's a shame that "Erotica" is officially flopped and by the scandals around it (eg the release of Madonna's book "Sex") went down, because afterwards we have to say really, that this album is one of Madonna's best works. In any case, it is due to the complexity of one of the most prestigious belonging albums with me.
