We live in a listed building from 1905th
Disadvantage of the isolation and humidity.
The insulation (heating in winter), we resigned ourselves. There simply has character!
The high humidity can be a problem.
If it is above 65% and to heating in winter like crazy, it can still be hot. It will feel cold!
I have after long measurements and research the dehumidifier decided always at night while we sleep to run in the living room. Because then occurs at least for us the Nachfeuchte!
Start is 1am in the morning and it is switched off at 7:30 clock.
It reaches 55% humidity at regular inserts.
(More is with us also not there. 51% was an anomaly but there was also very dry it out!)
Throughout the day until shortly before going to bed, the humidity rises.
This process will take approximately 18h!
It is then about 60-65%! Depending on whether it rained or not.
Our walls are made of natural sandstone and you can imagine you live in a sponge :-)
The compressor is the only drawback if you should let him run times during the day.
It sounds like the old freezer of my grandfather.
Many write it sounds like a refrigerator. So our fridge sounds much quieter! Almost inaudible!
