In the package is at the top of the monitor stuck a calibration report with serial number of the monitor. Each monitor is calibrated prior to delivery - and in my view, this is reflected positively in the image quality again. More on that later.
The package includes the stand, which must be installed before setting up, a VGA cable, a DVI cable and a power cable. For this, a manual and a CD (manual, color profiles)
First the pull (at this moment by a pin yet been saved) height adjustment in the monitor base are plugged. At the bottom of the foot, it has to a screw which has integrated a dressing - it therefore needs to screwing together no tools. After screwing the monitor with the monitor stand, you can pull out the aforementioned pin, then it can be the monitor Adjusting the height lässt.Als first notice that the monitor can easily be turned towards vertical and counterclockwise about can be rotated 2 degrees. The 90 degrees, so the neutral position of the landscape orientation has no noticeable latching function. This can be evaluated positively or negatively, I rated it neutral. The height adjustment of 12 cm, so for ergonomic working adequately. For this, the monitor can be tilted 15 degrees backward.
So monitor connected to the electricity. The device has an integrated power supply - so no extra cables.
I have connected the monitor via a Mini DisplayPort> DVI adapter to my 2012er Macbook Pro. OS X 10.9 Mavericks shows recognize the monitor after plugging directly as second desktop, represents the color profile to the monitor and it looks at first sight very well. The display is very good anti-reflective coating, so no reflections with incident light.
The colors are very vivid, crisp, but not overstated, the sharpness is excellent, the viewing angle as well. The first few minutes with this monitor have me really excited (and I still am). Surely you can still improve the color reproduction by a calibration at home, but "the average consumer", the calibration is already much better than in many models of the competition.
The frame is approximately 18 mm wide, so well justified, but the framework is reflected in contrast to the Panel - most likely, however, on the edge, since there is a smooth and thus more reflective bevel.
Convince the settings of the monitor, from overdrive for less input lag, up to DualView is everything to find what I need. DualView was the effect so far useful, as I my Raspberry Pi to the HDMI port connect the Mac to the DVI interface. The image is then divided in the middle. So you have a dual monitor in one device. Since I previously had not such a monitor, this is a real highlight for me.
What is not so great, is the marking or labeling of the menu buttons. They can usually only guess, and until a menu is just grope .. The buttons at the bottom of the right monitor range are marked by lines with poor contrast - What the design is good, it does not always operate, but once set , you will change running out of. The Power light is shaped like a semicircle us is subtly illuminated in blue. In standby mode it flashes.
To test the theme gaming capabilities, I have my PS4 staked times the projector and plugged into the LG IPS235 and Overdrive activated. I think the monitor is absolutely suitable for gaming and there are no streaks on (Tested Assasins Creed 4 me and Battlefield 4) The IPS display appears to be one of the faster.
I am completely satisfied at this price and will probably buy a second monitor of this type.
