erstens- is songs by Russian composers, sung here is Russian (not only who are admitted in Czech and German), the only for those who have previously outraged ever, as the non-English Netrebko sang to her Russian Album
zweitens- is not about Russian folklore or a Russian evening a la Ivan Rebroff (the way, I have greatly appreciated). is Russian musical settings of Russian poetry (including Pushkin, Alexei Tolstoy, Nekrasseow), so art songs of a certain severity and effort in the interpretation and listening
drittens- is a live recording, there is noise and applause (thankfully course for all those who could not be there in Salzburg)
viertens- it's not all entirely perfect, sometimes accompanied by an interpreter and not quite in sync (for human).
who says to point to all of these warning and -na? I do not care - it is strongly recommended to access. it's an experience! twenty-two arias for soprano and piano! somewhat restrained at the beginning, climactic, quite high and the highest tones of a voice that has matured. Netrebko the modulated quite skillfully, sometimes tender whispering, sometimes vigorously, sometimes dramatically, sometimes melancholy, strong and again gently, almost ersterbend in their performance. as befits the presentation of Russian romances (which are mostly melodic minor dramas in, often full of pain and tragedy in the text, in the melody and the Netrebko can express). certainly not easy to sing, especially the songs of Tchaikovsky seem the singer abzuverlangen lot.
nice addition for the Salzburg audience the very final Richard Strauss. naturally turn netrebko- German not in perfect, but it is in a special anna-. I mean, to hear them chuckle at the end ...
Who wants to spend a little more money, get it in a beautifully laid-out booklet a series color photos, background information about the composers and the opinion of the performers on this and all texts for better understanding and for hineinvertiefen. Then the plate is one again, and it will all be much better. very clear to me a product that I would like to recommend.
