With On Fire, I discovered Spiritual Beggars and I took a big slap. The album begins as a Deep Purple at its best and will quickly tease Black Sabbath in the most violent regions. But if the influences are not recent, it appears that the Spirituals living with their time; sound, arrangements, effects, everything is huge and worthy of the most important American blockbusters; these guys have an amazing sense of melody and composition, achieving the delicate blend of harmonic richness, power and energy. Add to that an unusual singer, a sort of mix between RJ Dio and Chris Cornell, crammed with testosterone, and you get a truly indispensable album, enough to reconcile the 2000s hard rock. 19/20
