The target group for a two and a half year old game? Adventure fans who either see no way to order games from the United States on the Internet, or simply not as good English can to play the original version with pleasure. It is no wonder already that it took so long (ATARI buying or not), to the German market, the second season looks: The episodes were a huge success, the first season in virtually every respect could beat and deserved it, some time closer to land.
And here it is with the good news already over. The German dubbed version has become the literal disaster because there is little to shake off. There are no here "bad voice actor" at work, and probably not even "the worst dubbing studio". From internet forums where emails of those responsible are found, it is clear what the problem was: The creation of the dubbed version was no view accompanying videos or even the game itself instead. A dialogue director in the traditional sense was thus in principle non-existent. Result: Without an idea of the context of the present situation, the mood of her character, the voice actors read their lines had to down the sheet. Of course there are false emphases in each set, and in the long term extreme listlessness in the voices of the speakers that the futility and inevitable miserable quality of their work were certain painfully aware. It would have the studio must be clear that in this way can only come out waste. An order under these conditions should have rejected a professional studio in haste.
The epochal Season 2 of Sam & Max did not deserve. Especially in the last two episodes are modern milestones of the genre to find that probably never can be apparently the only German player-so. What is offered here at insane action sequences, tangled alternate realities and completely wacky puzzles and dialogues, has no equal. In the fourth episode time travel stories are made vigorously for a ride, in the fifth company Sam & Max then even a trip to hell. The continuity on the season is really very well done; Although the resolution is oh so great in the last episode not surprise per se, it compensate the recorded already in the first episode and here very nice to end accommodated plotlines.
Meanwhile, Telltale Games has the internet episodes incidentally brought out even for Apple Mac users (and the only "bonus" for the Windows version, at no extra cost). This sensation is no longer pressed Hasbro also on their volume. But the English language version is on it. Who can speak English, accesses - who is not, should turn to other games. Because German is the second season, however painful this is for me as a fan, almost unbearable.
