The stories of JF Parot are striking realism: we believe it. We discover the Paris of the eighteenth century through the eyes of the hero and it's exciting. We find a Nicolas Le Floch still loyal and serious with a touch of passion due to his youth. Fun of its reports (downright funny) with his superior, Sartine, who chafes over nothing. The case is more than to untangle complex and our sleuth is struggling to learn all the tricks, to the end that does not spare the theater shots: the hero reminds me Hercule Poirot in his way of telling how was the whole deal. I loved it.
