(I copy paste here the comment I left on the 3rd volume of this trilogy, in order to have an idea before the start) The trilogy is inspired by video games ... and it shows, especially on the end of that tom. Some scenes seem to be taken straight out of a mavaise of tabletop roleplaying games, you sometimes end up with "quests" remembering what we find in them. The final battle is below all, the resolution of the plot because it also suffers from many shortcuts screenplay (net out of nowhere etc ...). The credibility of James suffers greatly, sometimes even of Arutha.
A huge disappointment for this trilogy yet centered around a colorful character, having said that ... his reading allows the introduction to a deity that will be more important later, but the reading of the trilogy is not necessary for compréhenssion the following events. Go your way without regret otherwise find a summary on the net. Feist has accustomed us to much better than that ... shame.
