Welcome To Burlesque

Burlesque (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The soundtrack to the musical film "Burlesque" has a great taste of Christina Aguilera's screen debut, which will start with us on 06 January. Unfortunately, there is no duet with co-star Cher, but the soundtrack combines at least the unmistakable voices of two great divas on a CD.
The opener "Something's Got A Hold On Me" ensures a good mood and makes the same desire for more. The Etta James classic is staged powerfully by Christina and is the original in every way. The song "Tough Lover" (what a voice), "But I'm A Good Girl" and "A Guy What Takes His Time" provide a great retro flair and it will be interesting how they set the film in scene will. Ever since the album "Back To Basics" should be known that Christina Aguilera is like no other understands songs of that era to interpret. The Cher song "Welcome To Burlesque" joins here with his tango elements seamlessly.

"Express" and "Show Me How You Burlesque" manage to preserve the charm of the aforementioned songs, but this transfer to the present day. In "Express" it is the most sophisticated synth sounds, with "Show Me How You Burlesque" which trumpets that help.

Next the soundtrack with "You Have not Seen The Last Of Me" and "Bound To You" contains two absolute power ballads. Cher also shows when her second song for the soundtrack that she has not lost any of her vocal power and next to younger talents such as Christina Aguilera can continue to exist. The ballad is already a Cher classic and perhaps even the centerpiece of the album.
In collaboration between Christina and Sia Furler enstand "Bound To You", a ballad that is lyrically confident and mastered emotional and sovereign of Christina.

The last track of the quality but short soundtrack is a little surprise. "The Beautiful People" contains samples of the same name Marilyn Manson songs (!) And comes with comparatively rocky passages therefore. The chorus is a real catchy tune and the song would certainly be a successful single.

"Burlesque" is a small but neat soundtrack that comes along for no filler. For Christina Aguilera fans certainly a must, but probably Cher fans will get their money's worth. Now we have only to wait for the movie. The trailer promises but also in this case, ever the best entertainment!
