First the positives:
- He cleans thoroughly (amazing how much dust the place so)
- Even in the corners of the robot comes reasonably well.
- It is really easy to clean
- Finally I no longer need me to squeeze between the wall and bed to suck at this. Every two days the machine swirls through bedrooms, thus preventing reliable that dust bunnies form (dusting you still must of course)
- I personally find the iRobot as a comparatively quiet. One must not forget just that there is a vacuum cleaner. If one were to use a normal vacuum cleaner, one could not entertain in the room. Since I do not need to monitor the device I leave the room and hear almost nothing behind the closed door.
Now the negatives:
- Roomba has a small camera on the "head" it is the responsibility that the device is 9,19cm high and not only 8.5cm. And it is this camera is responsible for ensuring that the vacuum cleaner will not fit under my couch and gets caught again under the wall-hung toilet.
- In spite of the said camera I feel the suction operations to be quite long. If not actually the device places where it was already noted and avoided? Does he at least for me not. Usually I leave the house when the Roomba sucks because this point that bothers me only peripherally.
- I was also in accordance with the advertising of the view that the device, if at all, only very slowly and carefully moves against walls. So slow is different and after 3 months of good Hans-Georg looks already pretty scratched out.
- Furthermore - and this was really annoying - blew the iRobot with the fan on one side always vigorously dust of ungesaugten places on already sucked surfaces. Somewhere I had read the tip on how to deflect the wind and this reconstructed with paper. Really does not look nice, but does the job.
- The Roomba does not manage, unfortunately, despite Cliff Detect Fuktion to recognize our dark stairs before. If the device so zufährt head on the stairs, always rolling the foremost role on the "cliff" addition, and Roomba is unable to free themselves (thank God he never falls down the stairs)
- Continue this device is not for people with cantilever chairs / armchairs. Both the known chair of Swedish furniture, as well as our 6 cantilever in the living room and 2 in the kitchen I have ever high spaces because "Hans-Georg" else about it moves, festkeilt and not come off.
Conclusion:
Despite good suction performance (if you have an empty room with no furniture and stairs) lead me these negative points more personal note Hans-Georg mainly eizusetzen the bedroom and study, so I would have to reduce the rating to 3 points. But as well hopefully not everyone struggling with these pitfalls has (stairs, wall-hung toilets, cantilever, low coffee) is the unit in principle a good and time-saving purchase.
Btw: The device has yes no timer function, which I really wonder what you should do this. Every morning when I leave the house, I turn on the vacuum cleaner, and when I come back, the rooms (three creates it without getting lost) clean. Why should the Roomber so only two hours after I had left the house to start, if it does, the result is the same ...
Addendum:
I now always clamp a toilet paper roll under the hanging toilets. So the Hans-Georg also runs smoothly in the bathroom :-)
