The author shows us how and why our conception of the universe has evolved to the theory of Newton M. The first part familiarises us exciting way with relativity, quantum mechanics and the concept of the strings. Then in his chosen field, Green wants to convince us of the superiority of string theory and enters the details of lesser interest for the general reader, the more difficult to understand and that increase the presentation. The end offers us marvelous possibilities for future cosmology. It remains qu'admiratif before such intuitions and all the work that followed to formulate. Thus we see that from a simple design was arrived at a design unrelated to our daily experience (our common sense) but probably still insufficient to explain everything and that maybe there will never be ultimate solution. Writing the book on the plane is fun to read the author using simple words (even if not everything is simple to understand!). It is regrettable that some repetitions have no interest to the general understanding and burden the text. I read this book on kindle which unfortunately makes them unreadable illustrations when they should aid understanding of difficult points. Access to the notes at the end of chapters or return to passages from previous chapters is also not practical. I suggest reading this book that I highly recommend a book, not kindle. It's a little more expensive but well worth it.
