Until 2003 ("What can I do for your world") Rosenstolz were never really mainstream and daring experiments (Song titles like "Sex Hotel" or "The sluts are tired", later "Amo Vitam" in Latin and electro on "Power Of Love" ). The album "Heart" (2004) was home then the first two songs up on the radio and down ran ("Love is everything" and "Welcome") - on the other hand but also a very rocking "Yellow Monster" and the song "A question of light ", in which it clearly was about sex again.
The next two albums were anything but poor, more precisely, they were even perfect - but really stands out, I found only one ballad ("Something destroyed" and "The Search Continues"). On the last album "Born This Way" in which Anna was not the first time involved in the songwriting, then unfortunately no longer a song stood out.
My expectations of a "solo album" Anna was now rather vague: Creative texts, more experimental music - the very first trailer for the new band "Track 8" screwed my expectations in any case very high.
Now track 8 is really a real band, a solo album that is so in any case. That is why in most songs also "Track 8" is mentioned as a co-author - R. AnNa itself is mentioned by name only in the lyrics to "Change" and "devil".
"If the ever so" is an absolutely successful pop album, Anna's voice is as strong as ever, and with "The Chance" and especially "Devil" gets the last bored by Rosenstolz listener even corners and edges served.
Unimaginative musicians were not even, so you can hear here and there a harp, brass or a vibraphone, on melodies and lyrics one can hardly complain.
"One second," and "I do not love you" are very beautiful ballads. They do not extend to the largest Rosenstolz ballads zoom, but this comparison is actually already unfair because ballads of July or Heroin would not even be measured by Rosenstolz ballads.
Remarkably, in addition to those already mentioned rockier numbers "The Chance" and "devil" especially "Do not go" (possibly hit potential as the second single), the musically interesting "love without responsibility" and my personal favorite song "Here". What I like about this song hard to put into words - certainly and also Anna's way convey the text it authentic. A great song.
The acoustic versions are only partially successful. Especially "devil" loses here a little bit of what makes the song stand out from the album. Also, "Who am I" seems a bit boring by the thrifty percussion.
Sadly, the second CD as thin fails - "If I could" and the very successful song "Clown" can be downloaded only. For the single "Who Am I" was chosen an album song as a B-side, the bonus disc of the deluxe version contains only the acoustic versions. That's just a pity for collectors and gives the impression that even have more interest in the online market, record companies as the sale of real CDs.
All in all, "If it always like" a really good album, also recommended as a white vinyl very - and I wish for the future to me a little more participation of Anna in the songwriting. The live concerts remain to be seen, but at the moment I miss Rosenstolz actually not!
