Sorj chalandon a wonderfully neat pen deliciously caustic and extraordinarily creative. With a dazzling mastery emerge powerful emotions exploring the human soul, its report to the honor, to the nation, his brothers and his enemies ... and especially to treason. The admirable construction of the narrative between past and present, between what was in what should have been or what should never have happened is beautifully dizzying. The historical context is relatively unknown to me, I have unfortunately not always been able to appreciate the true value of this novel, which I am sure will resonate more deeply in people sensitized to the Irish question.
