With his now 6th studio album "Paper Trail" brings us ATL rapper Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., better known as TI, one of probably the most anticipated rap albums of the year 2008. Even before the official release of the disc had already TI six pieces released as singles, although some of these were available only as a digital download and there was no music video to. Moreover D4L member Shawty Lo brought a little promotion for TI with the started of Shawty Fede now also takes a few months on. The self-proclaimed "King Of The South" tipped his new LP with 16 tracks, also has the iTunes version two bonus tracks. The matching Beats TI got by, among other things Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp, Danja, Jim Jonsin, Chuck Diesel, Just Blaze, Swizz Beatz and Kanye West. Even the guest line-up must not hide, because with people like Ludacris, Rihanna, Usher, Swizz Beatz, John Legend, Kanye West, Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Justin Timberlake, the King captured some high-profile names. These are the best conditions to meet the high expectations raised already at the beginning, but if this TI is really successful, we will see in the course yet. After a hearty produced by DJ Toomp intro song called "56 Barz" shows us Harris on "I'm Illy" equal times where the rubber meets the road. Fats kick bass and a women's choir singing in Hintergrunf provide a good basis for TI, which gets going right the fresh and with plenty of bite and hereby Schonmal sets a high bar to start. Then Drumma Boy unpacks his first beat and the beats so powerfully like a bomb, here the electric guitars and Synthe elements complement each other very well and TI remains in high spirits and brings a next top performance. After having some time ago a song by Ludacris upcoming album "Theatre of the Mind" appeared, was featured on this TI, it surprised me too far from the former "sworn enemies" a Collbao in "On Top of the World" made, also is also BOB still featured. This song is full of genius, TI and especially Luda rapping everything in land and BOB is responsible for the chorus. Now it is a bit strange, because on "Live your life" performs TI with Rihanna is indeed nothing strange but yet the producers Canei and Just Blaze calculated the 2004 summer hit "Dragostea din tei" the Romanian pop band O-Zone as a sample template hergenommen have this, if only to much more. The melody hereof determines the rhythm of the refrain, because Rihanna sings with Autotune, as one of her partially already from their current single "Disturbia" knows that on the re-release of "Good Girl Gone Bad" can be found. The Beat acts here quite trendy, the whole sample seemed to me at first but totally stupid but I find after a while, the song nen certain style - but not heard unbending to my favorites on this record. Next, there's the single "Whatever you like", which was produced by Jim Jonsin and partially has an amusing melody. TI is trying to sing here more than to rap what it pretty neat succeed and thus somewhat chilling touch and a few emotions with reinzubringen. Next is "No Matter What" the somewhat older first single. This song is something really special, because here TI indicates entirely new ways, because as you have probably never heard of him before. The beat consists of drums and they are perfectly accompanied by an organ and electric guitar riffs. Harris trumps here once again super and not only because of the catchy hooks. Drumma Boys second production plug-in "My Life Your Entertainment" TI performs along with Usher. Deep bass determine the tone here and Usher sings as it should be otherwise in the chorus, but as truly spectacular the song is not also. "Porn Star" is very melodic and chilled, on the other hand also a bit mysterious and ago also held a total of some poppy from style. "Swing Ya Rag" by and with Swizz Beatz looks almost like a kind of anthem / Anthem and shows Swizze slowly but surely return to its former strength, because it creates here with his Beat a cool rough and tough street atmosphere. Now follows the current (Solo) Single "What up whats happenin 'again with a really fine Drumma Boy Beat equipped. The song is a Diss against Shawty Lo, both in terms of parts of the text and the accompanying music video this by TI Shawty's "Chedda Chaser" dance moves neatly into the dirt. Against this song Shawty should now finally wrap up, because he can not hold a candle to long TI except raptechnisch or musically. The next song "Swagga Like Us" connects 4 Heavyweights of Rap Games because in addition to TI play here even Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West calls the tune. In itself, the song is a collabo TI and Jay Z and should also be found on Jay Z's next album "The Blueprint 3". Kanye has tinkered here a strong beat, which is decorated with many electrical elements and the four make a good job although TI and Jay Z mainly cut best. Really relaxed and soulful shows us TI on "Slide Show", where he get together with soul singer John Legend delivers a dreamlike Collabo whose full splendor stands only really through the beautiful piano melody and John laying outstanding sung chorus. "You is not missin nothin 'also acts quiet and somehow a little sad by the piano melody and the partial support of some other instruments such as acoustic guitar or saxophone. The conclusion then is the beautiful "Dead And Gone" with Justin Timberlake. A pretty nice song, which acts very emotional and in which it can probably relax quite nicely. After the 15 tracks you can safely say that it is TI succeeded deliver a really good album indeed do justice to his expectations, but the album that a top 5 star deserves still something missing. Nevertheless, it certainly makes no mistake this album in his native CD record collection)
