What then about the various constraints of the time imposed Jacobs (outcries linked to the onset of a scantily clad woman on a blanket -the diary kept by Septimus in the process of "The yellow mark"), or even of censorship (the original cover of "The Yellow brand," the pteranodons the "diabolical trap" ...)?
Suffice to say that the plagiarists of all kinds that can now break free, to give heart to joy. But it is still necessary a minimum of talent to go beyond the mere transgression and propose interesting albums.
And talent, Pierre Veys (scenario) and Nicolas barral (drawing), do not fail in their "SOS Weather" pastiche "SOS Meteors" of 1959.
The story begins with the arrival at Professor Mortimer, a Francis Blake determined to type the inlays. Mortimer who lives a cushy life, is quickly surpassed by his friend without discomfort or the requirements of increasingly strong Nasir his faithful servant (he even wants to receive overtime! Gattaz Jr in choke).
Mortimer, tired of being taken for a sucker, decided to invent a potion that will boost its dopamine to make it less sweet.
Result: it becomes a kind of Jekyll and Hyde, which obviously will not be without consequences, and quickly lead to cross paths with a famous colonel, always busy doing harm.
This new wacky adventure of our 2 hero is a success to 3/4, with scenes of anthology (the encounter with a pathetic and ham Olrik, before getting out of bed, difficult Anglo-Welsh relationships ...) and mischievous winks (the reference to mechanical orange, Churchill in strip clubs ...). The drawing is tasty with a mimicry game particularly successful.
Nevertheless, I think the "climate" trick that serves to frame the album lacks a bit of consistency and suddenly weakens the album and breaks the rhythm that becomes winded in the final straight.
But other than that, this parody worth most albums released by the various buyers of the franchise.
