That album however strikes the same direction as the albums of several of their contemporaries, is certainly due to the appropriate drug experiments and the then prevailing zeitgeist. The quality of the songs is mixed. Sing this all together, and On with the Show Gomper are not worth mentioning, 2000 Man and The Lantern okay. Rock bottom on a Stones album represents for me Sing this all together (see what happens), 8 Minutes set to music of imagination, apparently originated under the influence of drugs and probably to endure even in this state, similar refreshingly from listening like a year later Revolution 9 by the Beatles.
As the main pillars support four songs the album, without which it would crash mercilessly: Citadel, Bill Wyman In another country, the wonderfully melodious She's a Rainbow and the fantastic 2000 Light Years from Home. (The latter three titles were also deservedly released as singles.)
In In another country (the only authorized by the Stones Wyman composition on a Stones album) Bill conceals his inability to sing passed through a set to the song tremolo effect; She's a Rainbow blooms heavily in by Nicky Hopkins 'piano and John Paul Jones' (later Led Zeppelin) slightly wacky string arrangement, and 2000 Light Years from Home Jagger said to have been inspired by his brief imprisonment. This shows clearly Brian Jones' handwriting - who knows, maybe would have the album without the adverse circumstances in which it originated, but can be a psychedelic classic?
Did the Beatles left on the "Sgt. Pepper's" Clear Case with "Welcome the Rolling Stones good guys" a little greeting, now adorned the faces of the Beatles in flower shape the cover of Stones record. The album was released over the years every now and again in a limited edition with the famous 3D "Lenticular" cover, which became a collector's item.
Mick Jagger once said that he preferred the mono mix of the stereo mix before; This is since 2002 before class remastered and does so (especially with headphones!) really fun. (The mono mixes of the three singles We love you / Dandelion, In Another Country / The Lantern and She's a Rainbow / 2000 Light Years from Home can be found on the "Singles Collection"). I find, as usual, one would at the 2002 edition necessarily coincide resulting class single We love you / Dandelion with pack on the CD have associated just with them.
