Who lives in Alaska photo artist Ben Huff embarks on a journey along the northern highways of the United States. Huff, who has traveled since 2007 to over 400 miles long Dalton Highway repeatedly at different seasons, portrays this desolate yet beautiful stretch of land at the end of the world. The order of the pictures is based on the continuation of the route from south to north instead of page numbers expect the viewer about: Miles information. Mile 172 brings about the encounter with Jason, who looks serious in a checked lumberjack shirt and dungarees before deep black backdrop into the lens but that is all we know about him. Ever Huff leaves us at the backgrounds of his shots, by road, pipeline, landscape, and people who do not participate; the band dispensed with captions, the photos wearing a short, sometimes cryptic titles like Brian's suit, Kevin or driving into fog. In this respect, it would be misguided to confuse The Last Road North with a band for fans of landscape or nature photography; it is ultimately more of a exhibition catalog as a picture book in the conventional sense, also as regards the structure of the individual book pages: After crossing the book almost like a visitor to a photo exhibition at the Museum. It is now entirely up to you, the use to be understood as reference or as a warning.
