Whether "cut" or "uncut" ....

Since this review will reflect only my opinion for the game I'm going to do without a great Summary: The darkness seizes power over the 21 year old Jackie Estecado. Why that happens, we learn in the course of the game. We also learn how to use the darkness for our needs. And we know what has to do a woman with it. So much for the content.

First: I was looking for a graphically and technically appealing game that teaches one the creeps. A game that you daddelt night with chips and cola in the living room on the big plant, in which highly alarmed over again - which is simply thrilling. I found it and (unfortunately) been through.

The game itself has me so very tied. I have played it on medium difficulty level, but I have some 5 nights used, including the adjustment period - so no entertaining fun. The difficulty is pleasant, at the beginning I had some problems finding the game (Overview, control), but it lies down with time.

The graphics are appealing, though at times a bit unimaginative - so who expect a complex and vibrant city like in GTA, which is not served. But you do not want to have in the Darkness: The Story is supported very well on the circumstances. There are different districts, streets and buildings, as well as a metro network - which I've seen during the game only 2 or 3 stops / had to see. Is there more?

The story is primarily linear with a few side quests ("Deliver a message for me", "Put denunden to ..."), which you can accept, but not necessarily. Actually I hate linear games, but in "The Darkness" which is concealed so well that it does not really stand out negatively. The nice thing: you can thus simply not do much wrong, that is not running frustrated for hours through the city looking for the next "use". Through doors through which you do not have, you can not go well - mostly.
BUT: yet you kniffelt to making ends meet. Because simply through not is also here! One has his skills, learn the "Darkness", use it properly.

One can call little helpers, simplify your work. Whether they throw themselves to the front, the lights make (because only in the dark one has all his skills = "The Darkness") afford or helping hand, they are. However, they are not as long and the enemy easily extinguish. But to him vorzuschicken to look at, what 'lurks around the corner ", they are very useful.

The most important thing: The "tentacles". Which are particularly to control some getting used to at first, but you get used to it. If you can draufhat it to crawl by using the "tentacles" ventilation shafts to open locked doors from the inside of the other side, or just a few corners "crawl" to do enemies.

Without use of the skills, the game is probably not contestable. But, and this is the great: "The Darkness" is not just a game, in which you can sit back after obtaining of all abilities and can exercise his powers for himself. Not only. It does often also as a normal "Survival-Shooter". There is a curve: at the beginning shooter. Then you learn his Fähighkeiten to and uses often. Very like me have the cutscenes when reloading. Like in a movie, as if someone had questioned the "actor" to their "game" and the subject matter. Kudos to the creators - the already not sooo long loading times be further shortened. Exemplary!

CONCLUSION: For friends of horror games almost a must buy. In other games, there are perhaps even more shock-moments, and one does not shy stängid on, but it's fun, Jackie Estecado through his "problem" to steer to be objective. The graphics is okay, everything seems tuned. Boredom is not on a "Scheme F" there is not in solving the problems.
