I am referring here to the Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i. The 'i' in the model number refers to the slightly increased processor clock. Instead of the model 800 with 832 MHz running.
Whether one feels in practice, was once an open question. At least it works in theory something fixed.
To make a long story short, I write a positive-negative-list:
PLUS:
Dimensions / weight: For a smart phone, it is gratifying handy and easy. Even while jogging you do not feel it.
Speed / operation: The touch screen is just big enough and super responsive to inputs. The resolution of the display is fine enough (640x480). In the sun we see, unfortunately, not much.
Android 2.3.6: one has first used to the Android operating system (as a long-NOKIA-owner), you will feel quickly at ease with the mini operating system. It quickly becomes clear that this is a proper small PC (It's actually a mini-Linux system).
Apps: The open app structure is probably the success of Google's Android. Can now be found for almost every requirement an app in Market (Google Play). Even if one is not on frills, yet alone are such free info apps like Öffi (Access) and DB Navigator Gold worth. And then there are gems such Runtastic (Running Wizard) to name just one example. And what the same things cost at Apple, you can test for free at Android often first. Like an app, you can buy them (with no ads and more features). That's the way it has to be!
There are also the very useful Google services, like translators, voice input, navigation, maps etc etc '.
Actually, hardly a wish remains open.
Another plus: the cell phone can even serve as data modem via UMTS (3G) use!
In Windows XP it comes. There are at google.de under "USB tethering" a guide.
So you close the phone by USB cable (included) to the PC and then switch to tethering mode.
In theory you need then no more DSL. Only a flatrate for Smartphone. For example blau.de, there goes the tethering.
MINUS:
Internal memory: probably the biggest criticism is the somewhat tightly dimensioned internal RAM. Whilst it might be many Apps to SD Card install, it will eventually something closely with nearly 200 MB. If the remaining memory (internal) smaller than 20 MB, to some app updates (z. B. Google Maps) can no longer install. It then has no choice but to remove than a few less important apps.
Camera, sound playback: Here one must - given the price - do not expect miracles. The Ace of course can not be measured with devices such as the S2 or the iPhone, but the cost, too mindestes twice. But it still sounds better than my old MEDION MP3 Player for 50 euros ...
Battery: Here you have to be clear: if it uses a lot, you have to charge it every day. Features like Wi-Fi and Internet (3G) should be switched off when not needed. That's pretty good in the quick menu.
PC software:
A consistently negative impression leaves alledings the Windows software Kies from Samsung, with which one can manage his mobile phone from the PC. The software is very immature. Every time you start this, you want to download and install an online update - even if you have done this, she asks during the subsequent re-start if an update is to be installed? (Hello KIES developer at Samsung! What are you really there ???)
If the extremely storage-hungry and tenacious software because running times, you can do the most important thing (Manage contacts, backup, synchronize multimedia content, etc.)
But as I said, here Samsung has a construction software ("gravel pit") released that is released to the user. Customer-friendliness is another way !!!

CONCLUSION: Those looking for a low-priced versatile, handy smartphone and wants to remain below 200 Euro: Accessing !!!
PS Also order a 8 or 16 GB MicroSD card! And a shell '
